" Reality and the Digital World: Are We Escaping the Truth or Just Our Perspective of It?"
? Reality and the Digital World: Are We Escaping the Truth or Just Our Perspective of It
" We often hear the famous phrase: " Reality is harsh
It’s usually said when people talk about why they turn to the internet or social media
. Some see these platforms as nothing more than a way to escape a harsh life or a reality
.they are unwilling to face
But the real question isn’t whether reality is harsh or not; it’s: Is the truth truly bitter, or
?have we simply become accustomed to focusing on its bitter side
By nature, humans tend to focus more on what hurts them than on what brings them joy.
One might live a day filled with ordinary or beautiful moments, yet a single negative
experience can overshadow them all. This is why the world sometimes feels like a cruel
.place, even though the full picture may contain details worth appreciatin
Interestingly, the people most content in life are not always those who have had it easy.
On the contrary, we often find individuals who have endured hardships and pain yet
possess a remarkable sense of satisfaction. The reason isn’t that they were untouched by
suffering, but because they understood a simple truth: life was not meant to be a
.paradise
If life were a paradise, humans would not have been created with desire, reason, and
heart all at the same time—contradictory forces that constantly make decisions a struggle
between what we want and what we ought to do. Therefore, one could say that humans
do not choose between comfort and hardship; they only choose the kind of hardship that
.suits them, for struggle will come sooner or later
As for websites and digital spaces, they are not necessarily enemies of reality. Sometimes
they are simply a small respite from the daily battle of life a place to laugh a little, dream
.a little, or forget the weight of one’s thoughts for a while
At times, these platforms may seem like a reality veiled with a touch of falsehood, or
what might be called a “white lie.” Yet, they are not always malicious; sometimes, they
are just a gentle illusion that allows a person to breathe a little before returning to their
.life
Still, the real danger arises when one forgets boundaries. The problem is not the
existence of these platforms but falling too deep into them, until they become a complete
.substitute for life itself. Then, a temporary escape transforms into a long-term prison
Interestingly, most people know that what they see online is not the full truth. Perfect
images, happy lives, beautiful stories… everyone knows they are not an accurate
.reflection of reality, yet they continue to follow them
Perhaps it is because humans, no matter how realistic, sometimes need a small dream
In the end, each person lives their own battle. We may not see it or understand it, but it
.exists. And amid these daily struggles, humans search for simple moments of calm
.whether in reality… or in one of those digital spaces
: And so the question remains
? Are we truly escaping the truth, or are we simply seeking an easier way to live it
