The Noise of Life
:The first question I want to ask you is this
?Do you really enjoy being alone
?Do you truly like spending time by yourself
Before you continue reading, take a moment to answer those two questions whether
.only to yourself or in the comments if you'd like
:If your answer is yes, then I have another question for you
?Why
?What makes you want to be alone? Is it exhaustion? Is it people? Or is it the noise
.Perhaps you'll tell me that the reason is the noise
.And to that, I'd say: Maybe you're right... or maybe you're not
Because I used to believe the very same thing. I thought I loved solitude, and I thought I
.hated noise
But recently, I realized I had been confusing two completely different things. I didn't hate
.noise itself—I hated a certain kind of it
:That led me to a simple question
?What kind of noise do we actually hate
Not every loud sound is disturbing, just as not every silence is comforting. Sometimes
you're surrounded by silence, yet it feels unbearably heavy, as if the quiet itself is
pressing against your chest. And other times, you're surrounded by voices, laughter, and
movement, yet you feel strangely at peace, as though every sound is reminding you that
.life is still beating
.There is a kind of noise that feels like the heartbeat of life
The sound of children running through parks and streets, their laughter untouched by
pretense. The cheerful chaos of a family gathered around one table, everyone talking at
once, words blending with smiles. Friends sharing funny stories, debating ideas, and
.bursting into laughter moments later
,There are also the conversations of older people—not gossip or rumors, but stories
memories, life lessons, riddles, and even those tales some dismiss as myths, yet somehow
,leave warmth in the heart. Those sounds, despite their volume, don't disturb you.
:Instead they give you a sense of comfort, as if they are quietly whispering
".You're not alone"
.Then there is another kind of noise
The noise of shouting before or after an argument. The harsh words spoken in anger that
,remain in our memories for years. The noise of insults, accusations, hatred, gossip
endless comparisons, the feeling of constantly being watched, and conversations built
.only to tear others down
.It is the kind of noise that makes a person feel suffocated, even in the widest of places
.What is fascinating is that both kinds of noise come from the same source: human voices
Yet what separates them is the emotion they carry. Words spoken from hearts filled with
.kindness sound very different from words born out of anger, resentment, or hatred
Perhaps that's why so many people say they love being alone. But I don't think they're
truly in love with solitude. I think they're simply escaping the kind of noise that has
.exhausted their souls
And although solitude has its own beauty, it isn't always beautiful. It carries another kind
...of noise
.The noise within yourself
,It begins when everything around you falls silent, leaving you alone with your thoughts
your memories, and the questions you've never managed to answer. Sometimes, the
,noise inside our minds is louder than anything the outside world could ever produce
.because it doesn't come from the world—it comes from us
That's why I believe we don't hate noise itself. We simply search for the kind of noise that
.brings peace to our souls, while trying to escape the kind that drains them
We rarely remember how many sounds we've heard throughout our lives. What we
remember is how those sounds made us feel. Some voices become memories we long for
.years later, while others become sounds we wish we'd never heard
.So today, I no longer say that I hate noise
Instead, I say that I'm searching for the kind of noise that quiets the heart rather than
.disturbs it
.Because not every noise is chaos
.And not every silence is peace
.Perhaps... the problem was never the noise itself, but the emotions it carries to us
